i really don't have much to say lately, altho there is a primary going on tomorrow in Mississippi, I think Obama will do good down there, so far the people in the south like him. Howard Dean is still trying to figure out what he's going to do about the DNC and the 90% chance that there will not be a candidate by that time, I don't see why they took away the delegates from Michigan and Florida tho, so what if they moved the time of their vote up, who cares. Everyone's already trying to figure out who McCain will choose as a running mate, it better be someone young tho cuz chances are he'll croak during the run. He's not as feeble as Bob Dole was tho, remember when he tried to run, he looked like the crypt keeper, wasn't he like 80 or something? I've heard rumors that Pearl Jam will be hitting the recording studio soon, hopefully have an album out in may of 2009, but that will probably get pushed back to November or something. The kids are fine, work is fine, daylight savings time sucks, I've been thinking of getting rid of my myspace page, i don't talk to anyone on there anymore...i stay in touch with a few people from LHHS on there but i'll just change email addresses with them, the other few people i don't like and/or talk to anymore and two others i work with and see everyday anyway. I've been thinking alot about what kind of tatoo i'm gonna get for Devin, I technically have 2 for Alyssa but they can share the Phoenix and the band is def. for her (it's the sign of Cancer the crab), he's a Sagittarius but I don't really want to go with zodiac again...maybe a sun design for 'son' obviously...hmmmm...it's been pointed out to me that I've had a boring blog week, this I cannot deny....but it will have to continue being that way as it's 11pm and I must go to bed if I'll have any chance of getting to work by 7. Maybe I should stir the pot a little and say something crazy controversial before bed....hmmm, nothing good comes to mind, how bout gays should have the right to marry altho i think most people agree with that....well nothing comes to mind so bye

Just watching the news this morning and there's been another fatal accident involving a teenage driver. In the past 6 months there have been like 10 in Connecticut, I don't know if this is a national average that's rising or just around here, but I assume that kids all over the country are stupid not just here. My favorite Republican of all time (Gov. Rell) is proposing that teens who get a speeding ticket lose their license for one month..this is genius. I agree with raising the driving age to 17 with 6 months probation, meaning that they must have an adult with them for the first 6 months and any speeding ticket lead to immediate suspension. I don't see the need to travel at speeds of 100+ on the highway, or at 80 on back roads this is the action of a moron and anyone caught doing this should be treated like one. Oh and real quick don't anyone forget this in 2000 the popular vote for Bush was 50,460,110 for Gore it was 51,003,926 about half a million votes meant nothing, it's time to change the voting system and get rid of electoral votes. And even if those 543,816 people were poor or on welfare they are still citizens of the United States, Gore won and no amount of spinning the numbers will ever change that...ever.

so this tuesday didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but Obama still leads in the delegate count over Hillary. Ya know, ever since Bush stole the election from Gore I've been big on getting rid of the electoral vote setup, why can't they just count the popular vote and leave it at that. Same thing with the primaries, what is this delegate count and why can't we just go by popular vote. And then you get this whole 'superdelegate' thing, and they can throw a wrench into the Democratic Convention. Like in Texas where Obama lost but took more delegates than Hillary, or in Nevada Hillary won but Obama took most of the delegates. I'm gonna zip over to Wikipedia real quick and sort this all out....okay it actually seems simple I just never took the time to actually look it up, so forget everything else I said before this, well except about elections being based on popular vote only, everyone's vote should be equal, just because the delegates like a person better they can basically override the popular vote because their vote is worth more..that's how I take it, and it seems silly that we can't all just put in our vote, they get counted up and a winner is declared. So, the enemy has been named and it is McCain, I'm not surprised by this I knew he would win when primaries started. He should have been the nominee in 2000 to go against Gore but Bush slimed his way into that and the rest is slimy history, sometimes I wish I could go back to 1946 and convince Barbara Bush to invest in a coat hanger, but that would be against the Bible I guess.

I really haven't been able to update for a few days because everything is ......normal? Around here it is anyways, the only events that I can really think of is Devin has had a bad case of diarrhea earlier in the week and after a visit to the doctor (BTW, anyone in my family must see the new PA, Steven I believe is his name and he's great)he's doing much better now. The day after his visit Heather was wondering if Devin should be on a soy based formula, as his problems only occurred after eating, so she called to ask, and the pa's response...."ya know I've been thinking about this last night at home as was about to call you to tell you that exact same thing, so go ahead and change him to soy." This is an amazing thing for us, cuz altho I'm happy with my current doctor status, we haven't been happy as far as the kids are concerned. Our doctors office used to be a true 'family practice' but now it's joined a corporation called ProHealth and it's nowhere near as good. If you have a problem and need an on-call doctor, you could get a guy from another part of the state who knows nothing about your child or their history, or if you are in the hospital and request your own doctor, they won't come, they don't do hospital visits anymore. They wouldn't even come to check Devin so he could be released from the hospital after being born, the on-staff pediatrician had to check him, then the next day we had to schlep back out to our doctor to be checked out, so we've been looking for a good pediatrician in the area, but a PA who actually thinks about his patients and considers calling the next day to change his original advice is a good sign. Otherwise same old, same old around here...I've still been reading alot more lately, I just finished 'Lightning' by Dean Koontz and now am reading 'Phantoms' also by him. We went to the library to return books today and I took out 'Creature' by John Saul, and Heather's grandmother suggested I get into the John Sandford series of "prey" books, so I got Common Prey. I found a list of all the books in order of release on Wikipedia so I'll go back and start from the beginning if I like this one. I think there are 13 books in the series, with the 13th just coming out last year. Well not much else happening here, like I said everything is pretty much (dare I say it)........normal | | Posted by BMCohen at 8:32 PM - | |
