Life of Bryan

now lets hear the truth for once

The McCain campaign machine has been making false statements about Sen. Obama's tax plan. Here's a quick 3 min video to explain why McCain is a liar and what tax breaks Obama does have planned.

Breaks for families making under 250,000 and no taxes for retirees making less than 50,000. That's the real Obama plan.

I guess he doesn't like Jews

Here's John McCain refusing to shake hands with a man wearing a yarmulke. He takes care to shake hands with every person in the front row, but just nods to the Jewish man. Does this prove anything? Probably not, but a bit interesting to say the least. Notice after waving to him he does give him a quick once-over hmmmmm..... I'll leave no comment and let you draw your own opinion

 Brett is a Jet??

I haven't talked sports in a while and some stuff is going on so I figured I'd talk about it. The NFL Preseason has begun, the Giants lost their first game 13-10 to the Lions.

Shockey is a Saint

and Brett Favre is a Jet??

I think the Pack made a bad choice here. Brett has been holding them hostage for about 3 years now, he keeps retiring then saying he wants to come back. The Packers drafted their future QB Aaron Rodgers a few years ago and he hasn't had a chance yet. So..now the NYJets who already don't have a QB for the future traded to get a guy who may at best play for two seasons, and once he's gone they'll still have the same QB problem they have now. Chad Pennington is a great QB but he's always injured so he's not a franchise player. So lets bring in a 38 year old Favre. Not to mention the Packers now have an untested Rodgers. When the 49ers traded Montana at least they knew Steve Young was a great player. Montana spent almost 2 full seasons injured, Young was the QB and he was great, so they knew they could dump Montana and be okay. They were Young won a Super Bowl and became a Hall of Famer, the Chiefs went 13-3 under Montana and lost in the AFC Championship. But one more season later Montana retired and it took a while for the Chiefs to get good again. Actually since 1993 (with Montana) Kansas City has not won a playoff game. Brett should have stayed retired or the Packers should have just kept him, let him sit the bench until they needed him.

Mussina is in the middle of pitching a good game, thank god, the Yankees need it. It's currently 2-0 NYY top of the 7th....Petite has had some bad games lately I hope he snaps out of it, he just got rocked by the Rangers the other night. Jobba is injured

Not much else big going on in sports, nothing that I care about anyway. The Olympics are starting but I don't care about that...kinda boring.

well thats all for now

 Happy Birthday

It's someone's birthday today. Well besides Roger Clemens. My brother is 24, hard to believe, that means I'll be 29 soon. For me 21-24 is all about the same, it's once you hit 25 that everything changes. I was 20 when Bush took office but it took till I was 25 to get as anti-Bush as I have become. The last 3 years have been just awful. So to salute my brother today on his birthday...um don't know what I'm going to do, but oddly enough Andy is the one who got me started on looking into Barack Obama, he was looking for him to run for president before he even announced it. I say oddly enough because Andy shares his birthday with the Dem nominee. Sorry Andy this was the only picture I had on the computer

Happy Birthday to Andy and Barack

I don't think Exxon Mobil has enough money so I'm voting McCain!

Get a look at this...the oil companies making big profits in just a quarter, and McCain wants to give them tax breaks.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama seized on a record oil company profit to argue that rival John McCain offers only tax breaks for Big Oil and "short-term gimmicks" to consumers struggling with soaring gasoline prices.

The Illinois senator quickly incorporated news of Exxon Mobil's nearly $12 billion quarterly profit into his remarks at a town hall meeting here.

"No U.S. corporation ever made that much in a quarter," Obama said. "But while Big Oil is making record profits, you are paying record prices at the pump and our economy is leaving working people behind."

McCain's response, Obama said, is to propose a corporate tax plan that would give "$4 billion each year to the oil companies, including $1.2 billion for Exxon Mobil alone" and a gas tax holiday that Obama said would only "pad oil company profits and save you — at best — half a tank of gas" over an entire summer.

In recent days, Obama has complained that McCain is offering little of substance to voters and does little more than attack.

"All those negative ads he's running won't do a thing to lower your gas prices or lift up the debate in this country," Obama said.

The two rivals have clear differences on energy policy. McCain favors a gas tax "holiday" for the summer driving season and wants to expand offshore drilling. Obama opposes both and instead advocates longer term assistance to develop alternative energy sources.

"That's how America is going to free itself from our dependence on foreign oil — not through short-term gimmicks, but through a real long-term commitment to transform our energy sector," Obama said.

Developing alternative energy is a big issue throughout the upper Midwest, a crucial swing region in this year's election.

While the exchanges between Obama and McCain have been growing sharper, he said, "I'm not interested in getting into a tit-for-tat, that's not going to lower your gas prices.

Personally I'm not sure about the off-shore drilling idea. Some are saying it may only drop gas by a few cents a gallon. I think the best way to drop gas prices is to get people who work for oil companies out of the white house. More also needs to be invested in alternative energy, I've seen a few houses lately with solar panels on the roof. The govt also has to step up and cap the profits of these oil companies, there is no reason gas can't be $3.00 a gallon instead of $4.30 If you pay by cash you can save almost 20 cents a gallon, gas goes from 4.09 to 3.89 at certain stations. I have two cars one with a 12 gallon tank and one with a 15, for $50 total i should be able to fill both of them instead of $107.
