Life of Bryan

all kinds of stuff to talk about today

well i was gonna make this a bit of a political post tonight cuz there's some things going on here in ct i gotta talk about, but first off the bat let me say a quick goodbye to Anthony Pagliaro. He was my partner at work for a few years almost exclusively, I worked with my brother in law quite a bit too, but there were times i worked with 'pags' for a month with no one else. Pags is the 2nd of my formers partners to die and about a year. My other former partner Rob died about 5 months after he was laid off, at the age of 40, pags was 43. so i guess no one's gonna want to work with me now, altho pags hasn't worked at Arnco for about 6 years. So.....to the topic I was gonna go with and big thing here in CT altho i don't know why...nooses. During Halloween a man was forced to take down a decoration of a man hanging from his front porch, altho the figure had no color to it the black people in the neighborhood said it was racist and offensive so he had to take it down. Since then construction sites in West Hartford and Stamford have been finding nooses just hanging around with nothing in them. So this whole big racial uproar is starting and they say it's a hate crime to hang up a noose and a threat of violence, this is stupid. It's not like they were hung on someones house who is black, it's in a public place. Now I've of Jewish decent and i'm also a person who doesn't find much offensive, if I showed up to a construction site and there was a Nazi flag hanging up I wouldn't be offended altho that would be a bigger sign of violent hate then a noose. A noose doesn't mean black hate, it's just a dumb noose and people are only doing it because it draws attention, it's silly really.

so that's all for that, oh i've decided i need to see some of the great classic movies of the past to get some pop culture, so i'm going to Netflix everyone of the Academy Award best film winners and attempt to watch them, even if I think they suck. well that's all

 Finally an update

so we're obviously home and all with Devin. I'm sure you've all seen pics or saw him already but here's two that I took with my phone

so it was a rather ordinary delivery as compared to what we went through with Alyssa. He was born at 8:21pm and was 7lbs. 14oz at birth, on the 27th of November. He's a strong boy on his second day he started trying to turn his head and was picking it up, and changing him is near impossible because he pulls his legs up like a frog and keeps them tight to his body covering the straps for his diaper. not to mention the pee fountain that he can turn on and off midstream, seriously, i was changing him and he started to pee so i covered him up, waited a 10 seconds then pulled back the diaper to start again, then he started again, so i covered him and he stopped and as soon as i pulled that diaper back he started again. i can tell i've got a little me here, my parents should be thrilled.

 this is crazy

this is an article i found online, it's crazy

The case of the unidentified woman, 19, drew international criticism after an appeal increased her 90-lash sentence to 200 lashes and six months' jail.

The justice ministry statement rejected "foreign interference" in the case.

It insisted the ruling was legal and that the woman had "confessed to doing what God has forbidden".

The statement carried by the official press agency late on Saturday said the sentence would be carried out in accordance with Saudi law.

The woman was initially to be punished for violating strict gender segregation laws in Saudi Arabia, for riding in the car of a man who was not related to her when they were both attacked.

"The Saudi justice minister expressed his regret about the media reports over the role of the woman in this case which put out false information and wrongly defend her," the statement said.

"The charged girl is a married woman who confessed to having an affair with the man she was caught with."

Barbaric

Adultery is a punishable offence in Saudi Arabia's strict system of Islamic law, and correspondents say judges are given wide powers to impose custodial sentences or corporal punishment.

The justice ministry statement is at odds with previous published testimony of the woman, who is a Shia Muslim from the Qatif area.

She has reportedly said she met the car-owner in order to retrieve a photo of them together, having herself recently got married.

She says two men entered the car and drove them to a secluded area where others were waiting, and both she and her male companion were raped.

Her sentence was increased on appeal after judges wanted to punish her for attempting to use the media to influence the case. Her attackers' sentences - originally up to five years - were also doubled.

The woman's companion was sentenced to 90 lashes.

Several governments and human rights groups have condemned her sentence and urged it to be lifted. Canada described it as "barbaric".

The US, a major Saudi ally, declined to condemn to sentence, but did call it "astonishing".
